All 1994 Formula 1 track layout modifications
This is an educative compilation about all of import changes inward track layouts of venues corresponding to the 1994 Formula 1 season. It started as a reaction of GPDA on heavy improvements to the safety, after Ayrton Senna’s tragic accident during the San Marino Grand Prix, which took away his life.
This is the full listing:
0:00 to 0:39 – Spanish Grand Prix, Circuit de Catalunya: A temporary chicane was located between Campsa and Nissan. Removed inward 1995.
0:40 to 1:01 – Canadian Grand Prix, Circuit Gilles Villeneuve: A temporary chicane was put between L’Epingle and Online Casino Sanmarino (before it was turned into the long Online Casino Sanmarino Straight). Removed inward 1996.
1:02 to 1:25 – British Grand Prix, Silverstone Circuit: The flat-out Abbey curve was transformed from a kink to a chicane. Still exists, despite the current layout for the Formula 1 event doesn’t include it.
1:26 to 2:08 – Belgian Grand Prix, Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps: Probably the most symbolic modification. The bloody-fast Eau Rouge was modify to a chicane. Went back to normality inward 1995 as fast as before.
2:09 to 2:34 – Portuguese Grand Prix, Autódromo do Estoril: A slow and cumbersome uphill chicane was added to bypass the Tanque corner. It remains inward existence.
2:35 to 3:23 – European Grand Prix, Circuito Permanente de Jerez: A chicane was added to the Turn 11, between Peluqui and Ferrari. Still alive.
