The only way to truly understand what it was similar to fight inward the Second World War is to hear to the experiences of those men who were there. And often, there was nowhere to a greater extent than dangerous than on the ground. inward this show Peter Hart talks about his latest book – Footsloggers, inward which he reconstructs ane infantry battalion’s war inward staggering detail. Based on his interviews with members of the 16th Durham depression-cal Infantry, Hart bears witness non only to their comradeship, suffering, dreadful losses and private tragedies, but also their courage and self-sacrifice as they fought their way across Italy.
Peter will focus on the battle for the Balignano Spur.
